A TI M0-based control and Bluetooth module for rowing machines and exercise bikes that powers itself from the user’s motion, controls resistance and reports metrics over FTMS.
Overview
The BTV-3P-FMC is a two-module solution for home fitness equipment: a self-generating power-control module and a Bluetooth communication module. The user’s pedalling or rowing drives a generator that powers the entire system, so the machine needs no mains connection. The controller sets resistance levels, measures speed, cadence and power, and reports them over the standard Bluetooth FTMS profile to fitness apps, while a Modbus link connects to the main console board.
Key features
- Self-generating: the user’s kinetic energy powers the system; no mains needed
- Resistance level control
- Measures speed, cadence and power output
- Standard Bluetooth FTMS for fitness apps
- Modbus link to console / main board
- Designed for rowing machines and exercise bikes

Frequently asked questions
Does the BTV-3P-FMC need a power cord?
No. The generator driven by the user’s motion powers the whole system.
Does it work with fitness apps?
It implements the standard Bluetooth FTMS (Fitness Machine Service) profile, which most fitness apps use to read data and control resistance.
