NXP i.MX 8M board with four Cortex-A53 cores, a real-time Cortex-M4, a 2.3 TOPS NPU and 4K display output, for industrial HMI and edge-AI devices.
Overview
The TV-i.MX8M is built on NXP’s i.MX 8M family: four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.5 GHz for the application stack, a Cortex-M4 core for real-time tasks, a GPU/VPU with HDR10 and ISP support, and a 2.3 TOPS NPU for on-device inference. Hardware encryption protects firmware and data. The board outputs 4K over HDMI and dual-channel LVDS, and it is produced on an 8-layer ENIG (immersion gold) PCB for long-term reliability in industrial and medical equipment.

Frequently asked questions
Does the TV-i.MX8M have an NPU?
Yes. The board integrates a 2.3 TOPS NPU, so lightweight vision and voice models can run on the device without a separate AI accelerator.
What is the Cortex-M4 core used for?
The M4 core runs real-time tasks such as motor control, sensor sampling or safety logic independently from the Linux application processor.
Which software stack ships with the board?
Linux 5.4 with Qt 5.15 is the standard image; Android/Linux variants are available for OEM projects.
