Connected fitness equipment needs electronics that measure the workout accurately, connect to apps and, ideally, need no power cord. TouchVision supplies self-powered control modules and touch consoles for home and light-commercial fitness equipment manufacturers.
Self-powered control and Bluetooth: BTV-3P-FMC
The BTV-3P-FMC is a TI M0-based solution with two modules: a self-generating power-control module and a Bluetooth communication module. The user’s motion drives a generator that powers the system; the controller sets resistance levels and measures speed, cadence and power; data goes to fitness apps over the standard Bluetooth FTMS profile and to the console board over Modbus. It is designed for rowing machines and exercise bikes.
Touch consoles
For machines with a large screen, TouchVision supplies PCAP touch displays and Android/Linux boards such as the TV-RK3568 for streaming classes and apps, or the cost-optimized TV-RK3308 with built-in audio.
Customization
Resistance curves, sensor inputs, Bluetooth naming and FTMS feature set, console size and branding, firmware and app integration.

Frequently asked questions
What is a self-powered fitness controller?
It is a controller that is powered by a generator driven by the user’s pedalling or rowing, so the machine needs no mains connection. The BTV-3P-FMC works this way.
Does the BTV-3P-FMC work with fitness apps?
Yes. It implements the standard Bluetooth FTMS profile that most fitness apps use to read workout data and control resistance.
